Planning, Building and By-Law Enforcement

Meaford's Planning and Building Department's role is to assist Council, the development community and the public in matters relating to land use planning, building construction and By-law enforcement.


Planning

Here you will find copies of the Official Plan, Zoning By-law and other related municipal policies and regulations.  Application Forms to seek approval can also be found in this Section.  Information is also available with regard to various municipal projects and development proposals.

Building

Looking to construct a new building or addition, complete a renovation or change a use, install a septic or a pool, demolish a building, add a deck or accessory building.  This section will provide wiht the necessary information on what approvals maybe required and related applications.

Bylaw Enforcement

This sections outlines the enforceble By-laws that may apply to your property and also outline a process if you have a complaint with regard to complaince by others. 

Animal Control

Dog Tags are mandatory for all dogs in the Municipality.  This Section provides options to obtaining your dog tag,  in addition to what to do for lost or found dogs, stoop and scoop, aggressive dogs, dog bites and the Meaford Cat program.   

Heritage Conservation District

The Municipality of Meaford recently approved a Heritage Conservation District Study and Plan for downtown area of the former Town of Meaford

Community Improvement Plan

The Municipality approved a Community Improvement Plan for the dowtown area of the former Town of Meaford in 2008.
