The role of Council is to represent the public and to consider the well-being and interests of the Municipality. Council is responsible for developing and evaluating policies and programs for the Municipality, evaluating the services which the Municipality provides and maintaining the financial integrity of the Municipality. Council's role is to ensure that administrative policies, practices and procedures are in place to implement the decisions of council, and to ensure the accountability and transparency of the operations of the Municipality.

    Due to the Scarecrow Invasion Parade and Family Festival road closures, there will be a Service Disruption for the Municipality of Meaford Conventional Transit System. Transit Stops 1 and 5 at the corner of Nelson and Sykes Street will be relocated 1 block south to the intersection of Nelson and Cook Street, between the hours of 3pm and 5pm on Friday September 30th. Signage indicating this change will be posted at Transit Stops 1 & 5, and temporary signs will be installed at the intersection of Nelson Street and Cook Street. The stop times will remain the same. If you have any questions, please contact the Municipality of Meaford at 519-538-1060 ext. 1116. The Municipality of Meaford thanks you for your cooperation.
